On 4 March, the University of Washington (UW) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Aga Khan University (AKU) to initiate their existing partnership, with the aim of leveraging complementary strengths to expand research, service and education activities in low and middle-income countries. Under the agreement, the UW will offer AKU and AKDN technical advice and assistance pertaining to data and implementation sciences, access to formal degree and training programs, and will also support them in transforming AKU into a research-centered varsity. Both parties will also expand research endeavors and will offer joint student and faculty exchanges.
