In 2003, PLOS published its first research article and now it has reached the milestone after publishing more than 200,000 research articles across seven Open Access journals. Veronique Kiermer, PLOS Executive Editor stated that ‘”The 200,000th article is a notable milestone for PLOS and for the scientific community that has supported the Open Access movement.” PLOS constantly strives to use latest technology and new ideas to contribute to scientific communication.
