Development of flexible electronics using aerogel to take inspiration from plants

Aerogels, which are suitable candidates for the development of flexible electronics, such as bendable tablets and wearable sensors, are difficult to make as they have to be both robust and resilient. Researchers have reported in ACS Nano that they have been able to make a graphene-based aerogel that meets these needs by duplicating the structure of the “powdery alligator-flag” plant.
