The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has been awarded $17.6M by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for development of low cost vaccines that would cost 15 cents less per dose. This is considered highly beneficial for the countries with population mostly under low income brackets. The step taken by MIT will surely bridge the gap between manufacturing of vaccines and its global coverage through its advanced economic models, integrated manufacturing process and developing new vaccine strains.
