The open access giant, PLOS, has launched an author benefit tool, known as Protocols.io. The tool will enable the researchers or authors to get free access to the published data and methodology section. The researchers can upload their lab protocols at the Protocols.io site, which in turn will generate a unique DOI. This link can be useful during the peer review process.
