Researchers Complete Sunflower Genome Sequencing

Today, Nature journal has published the completed genome sequencing of sunflower plant. The sequencing work was carried out by University of British Columbia. To our amazement, the genome size of sunflower is 10 times larger than the human genome, consisting of 70-80% of repetitive regions.
