newscapsule_10_01_18200 German institutions and libraries are boycotting the most renowned journal publisher Elsevier to secure fair pricing and open access to academic journals. The coalition started the process under the name” Projekt DEAL” and proposed a publish&read model which would publish all articles under CC-BY license and the pricing will be based on an adequate article processing charge (APC). Springer Nature and Wiley have already agreed to the proposal, but Elsevier is holding out.
