A recent study report published by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states that nearly 8 million Americans are experiencing serious psychological distress
(SPD). This is prevalent in the age group 18 and 64 years, constituting 3.4% of total population. Further scientific research suggests that SPD is associated with anxiety and depression. Recession in the US economy is believed to have significantly contributed to the uptick in mental disorders.
